Cecelia Dorger ’79

After graduating with a degree in art education in 1979, Cecelia Dorger went on to get her doctorate and teach art history at Mount St. Joseph University for 28 years. Continuing her love of teaching, she now works for Mount St. Mary’s Seminary and School of Theology in Cincinnati where she teaches courses on sacred art. Working with Holly Schapker, Dorger wrote Universal Mother: A Journal for Finding Yourself in Mary, a guided meditation journal that calls readers into personal reflection and expression. A collection of art and Scripture, this journal allows readers to find themselves in Mary.

Rob Amberg ’69

Writer and documentary photographer Rob Amberg ’69 has completed his trilogy of books taking place in Madison County, North Carolina. Little Words is the culmination of journal entries and photographs from Amberg’s 50 years in Madison County. Amberg also adds speculative fiction set 50 years in the future to tell a story of change and rebirth. Through his artistry and storytelling, Amberg reveals the cultural fabric of the southern Appalachians and how it’s evolved since the ’70s.

In his book, Restore Health: Disease Reversal, graduate Joseph Scherger ’71 explains how diseases are reversible through an intensive effort to improve diet and lifestyle. He shares tips specifically focused on obesity, Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, gastric reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, most autoimmune diseases and cognitive decline. The name of his work comes directly from Scherger’s career as the owner and medical director of Restore Health Disease Reversal in Indian Wells, California. He continues to work teaching family medicine residents and caring for approximately 200 patients in a concierge private practice.  —alayna yates ’23
