Daunte Brown is a senior health and wellness major with a minor in psychology. He chose the University of Dayton for its welcoming environment and support from the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center.
He said that when he first arrived on campus, he was greeted with great welcoming energy, especially by Mérida Allen, associate dean of students and executive director of MEC. He got very involved in MEC and now serves as president of Black Action Through Unity. Brown is also an academic success ambassador and has mentored more than two dozen students through the PEERS program.
He also launched a clothing line focused on mental health and uplifting others, inspired by his leadership roles and advice-giving nature.
Brown's career dreams include working in community relations for a professional sports team post-graduation.
