Outside on a newly crisp fall day, the rustle of fabrics and clinking of hangers drew students under a tent to peruse pre-loved garments at a Clothing Swap hosted by the Hanley Sustainability Institute.
The event was a personal project from Zay Min Htike, a sophomore finance and business analytics major.
Htike is a member of Hanley’s Sustainability Student Leaders Program, an experiential learning program open to undergraduates who want to make UD’s campus more sustainable.

“Fast fashion is huge with college students and has such a negative impact on the environment. I wanted to inspire UD students to recycle and reuse their clothing,” Htike said. “I wanted the event to be free for everyone — making it engaging, accessible and affordable, all while fostering a culture of sustainability.”
