This thanksgiving, there are thousands of things I am thankful for: family, friends, my ability to do the things I love, but most of all, I am thankful for the art department here at the University of Dayton.
For those of you who don’t know the art department, it consists of the inspirational professors and advisors teaching the creative young adults. Students are taught the majority of art-related things under the sun — ceramics, photography, drawing, graphics, you name it.
I am a photography major here at the University, and boy I am honored to be. While being part of this department, I have met some of the most inspirational, courageous and overall most caring people in the world. The professors wish nothing but success for their students and do everything in their power to do so. I mean it, ANYTHING. They go out of their way to help myself and other students get one step closer to their dreams.
I will never let a day go by without thinking about how every single one of these professors have helped me in one way or another. I am beyond thankful every day to go to the art department and see my professors who have guided me not only through art and the process of it, but my life and how to overcome some of the most difficult things in my life.
Have a happy Thanksgiving, dear reader — and tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.
