With the hectic schedule of a stay-at-home mom raising two kids, Charles put her plans on hold until they went to college. In March, after more than 15 years, Charles published her novel Life’s Love Song about an enviable upper-middle-class family whose perfect world begins to splinter. They must learn to find solidarity in each other and face these challenges head on.

A story that UD grads can resonate with, this novel about friendship, coming of age and falling in love reflects on the laughter that supplements each of these endeavors. Readers will recognize the equally comedic and melancholic parts of navigating relationships as a college grad searching for a sense of self.
