Pride of Dayton marching band prepares for its new show, “Hailing Britannia.”
On a bright and beautiful early August day, the sun illuminated the Pride of Dayton Marching Band’s color guard as it practiced on the field near the Roger Glass Center for the Arts. Nearly 200 musicians and guard members began rehearsing as early as Aug. 7, long before the rest of the student body arrived for the fall semester. They practiced a mix of classic UD anthems and British ballads, which will be the theme of their football halftime show this season. Band members will reprise some of these tunes when the Pride of Dayton performs across the pond at London Band Week June 2025.
