5 A.M. Up and at ’em and ready for anything, the cadets of UD ROTC practice forming a perimeter on Stuart Field before the sun comes up. The team holds a Leadership Lab each Tuesday and Thursday morning.

6 A.M.  The sun’s first light peeks out and permeates the tranquil comfort of Serenity Pines, a place for reflection honoring Flyers we’ve lost as students, faculty and staff.

7 A.M. Floats like a butterfly, spikes like a Flyer. UD’s volleyball team works out in the Olsen Center, focusing on strength training and conditioning.

8 A.M. A medium cold brew with almond milk, light ice. The perfect way to start the day — the first cup of coffee being served at Heritage Coffee House.

9 A.M. In the minutes leading up to most students’ first class of the day, campus is bustling …

10 A.M. … quickly followed by campus’s quiet lull as students are settled in the seats in classrooms in St. Joseph Hall and beyond.

11 A.M. Staff and students are busy as bees as they tend to the hives located in UD’s Old River Park.

12 P.M. “Many students find that their time in college gives them the opportunity and the challenge of grounding their life in faith and growing in a faith community,” said Father Kip Stander, S.M. ’73.

1 P.M. Every other week, the student organization known as the Flyer Foam League meets for Nerf wars in RecPlex or on Stuart Field. Darts and eyewear are provided, but BYOB (bring your own blaster).

2 P.M. Students step off the Flyer bus and head into classes in art, business, education and more that are held in The Hub at the Dayton Arcade downtown.

3 P.M. “I feel like I’m learning in the classroom just as much as they are learning,” said Samuel Dorf, associate professor of musicology, of his students in his Ethics and U.S. Popular Music class.

4 P.M. Résumés in hand, students and alumni file among businesses looking to hire a Flyer at the Career Fair held in RecPlex.

5 P.M. Through the ages and the seasons, Roesch Library remains prime study space — especially when you can score a seat by a window.

6 P.M.  Classes are done, but it’s no time to rest. It’s easy to find a dozen friends to kick the ball around with.

7 P.M.  After a day of classes, it’s fine to unwind with a smile on Stuart Hill.

8 P.M.  The pink glow of a Midwest sunset overtakes campus — but it doesn’t mean we’re ready for bed.

9 P.M.  An evening of coffee and conversation on faith and life is hosted by Campus Ministry.

10 P.M.  No matter what time of day, one thing is for sure — students will always show up for free food (especially Milano’s pizza, yum).

11 P.M.  Late-night studying at the library can be ruff. Luckily, UD’s 4 Paws for Ability service dogs in training often stop by during finals week for cuddles and paws of encouragement. High-five, Flyers!

12 A.M.  ArtStreet Amphitheatre is a great place for a performance — to a crowd of hundreds, or just for closest friends.

1 A.M.  Someone is always on front desk duty with a helpful hand or a kind word — even during late nights in Marycrest Residence Complex.

2 A.M.  The image of Mary, who is known as the morning star, stands faithfully over campus through the night in this statue of the Immaculate Conception on the Roesch Library lawn.

3 A.M.  “As members of UD EMS, our unique role as students helping students allows us to connect and communicate with our patients on a more personal level and bring some comfort to what is otherwise a very scary experience,” said Haley Rodeffer ’23, former UD EMS chief.

Gabriela Bott ’25 uses her photography to illuminate the things she holds dear, from family to faith. The visual arts major from Columbus, Ohio, is president of Catholic Life. She started taking photos in the seventh grade.
