Supporting the Vision Together

Giving societies commemorate and thank our most loyal donors whose gifts make a difference in the lives of our students, faculty members and the entire University of Dayton community. Giving society members are key partners in building a culture of philanthropy at UD.

Our Giving Societies

Front Porch Society

Inspired by UD's neighborhood porches and the sense of community they help create, the Front Porch Society recognizes everyone who makes annual gifts to the University for three or more consecutive fiscal years (July 1 – June 30). Gifts can be in any amount and can be designated to any area of the University. Your gift every year makes a difference every day.

You are automatically a member once you have made a gift for three consecutive fiscal years. Your membership never expires as long as you make a gift each fiscal year.

Membership Levels:

  • Kiefaber: 25+ consecutive fiscal years
  • Stonemill: 15-24 consecutive fiscal years
  • Lawnview: 6-14 consecutive fiscal years
  • Chambers: 3-5 consecutive fiscal years

1850 Society

Named for the year of the founding of the University, the 1850 Society is composed of those who give at least $1,850 during the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). This amount may be a one-time gift or an accumulation of gifts during that time period.

Once your gifts reach the $1,850 level during a fiscal year, you are automatically a member. To keep your membership, you need to maintain this level of giving each fiscal year.

Membership Levels:

  • Mary: $50,000+
  • Mission: $25,000-$49,999
  • Community: $10,000-$24,999

  • Faith: $1,850-$4,999

John Stuart Society

Stuart’s belief in the Marianists and their vision for education changed the world. Members of the John Stuart Society share this bold vision with cumulative giving of $100,000 or more.

Lifetime giving of $100,000 qualifies you for membership in the John Stuart Society, and your membership is lifelong.
