Student Development: Dean of Students Office

Rony Die (Dee-AY) is the associate vice president for student development and dean of students. He oversees several departments, including the Center for Student Involvement, Community Standards and Civility, Housing and Residence Life, the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center, and Student Care and Advocacy, including the Campus Response and Evaluation (CARE) team.

Previous roles included:

  • Associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he led five key student-facing units (counseling and health services, student conduct, student care and advocacy, health promotion and wellness, and career development). He also chaired the behavioral intervention and threat assessment teams.
  • Assistant dean of students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he led student conflict resolution efforts and served as lead Title IX investigator. There, he proactively created and implemented alternative conflict resolution services.


Rony received his bachelor's degree in family, youth, and community sciences from the University of Florida, his master’s in higher education administration from the University of Miami, and doctorate in educational administration and foundations from Illinois State University.
