Profile
The Dean of University Libraries provides strategic leadership for the Roesch Library, internationally-recognized Marian Library and University Archives and Special Collections.
Consistent with the inclusive ethos of the Marianist tradition, the dean leads the talented faculty, staff and student assistants of the Libraries in the delivery of and access to innovative services, spaces and technologies, sustainable scholarly collections, and advanced expertise to advance student success, faculty teaching and research excellence, and community engagement.
The dean is responsible for cultivating collaborative relationships with the colleges and schools and divisions and units across campus to promote curricular and co-curricular opportunities for interdisciplinarity and the broad development of information and digital literacy skills vital to critical thinking, career success, and lifelong learning. The dean is also an engaged community partner, who works to strengthen the identity of UD as an anchor institution for the Greater Dayton area.
