Profile

Alan G. Williams is a graduate of Princeton University and the Florida State University College of Law (High Honors). He was a partner with a large Miami law firm before becoming a law professor in 2007. Professor Williams's legal scholarship focuses on evidence law and tort law and his works have been published in various journals, from the Stanford Law & Policy Review to the Journal of the American Medical Association. He is the author of the best-selling medical malpractice treatise, “Physician, Protect Thyself” and has lectured at prestigious educational institutions such as Harvard and Dartmouth, while teaching students from 19 different countries, both live in-class and remotely on-line. A practicing attorney who has tried scores of cases in both federal and state courts, Professor Williams is a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and all Florida state courts.
