Profile

Laura Vlieg is an Assistant Professor of Lawyering Skills at the University of Dayton where she teaches in the Legal Profession Program. 

Professor Vlieg obtained her JD from the College of William & Mary Marshall-Wythe Law School. After graduating she practiced law in the Washington DC area where she provided legal advice to aerospace companies and acted as the Regulatory Affairs Manager for multiple trade association clients. 

Embracing her love of research and teaching, Vlieg decided to pivot into an academic career by way of librarianship. Initially, she served as a Law Library Fellow while pursuing her Master’s in Library and Information Science at the University of Arizona where she provided reference services, planned student outreach events, taught several units in Advanced Legal Research, and co-taught a one-credit Legal Research Bootcamp. Next, she served as a Research Librarian and Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law, where she taught Lawyering Process II and Administrative Law. Most recently, Professor Vlieg has been working at the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University, first as a Law Librarian, and then as a Lecturer teaching Legal Analysis and Writing I, Legal Writing & Research for MSL, and Advanced Legal Research: Administrative Law
