Profile

Allison Silvain is an Assistant Professor of Lawyering Skills. As a Visiting Professor, she taught the Leadership Honors Program Legacy course, Appellate Practice and Procedure and Legal Profession I and II. She has taught in the Residential as well as the Online Hybrid J.D. program.

After graduating from University of Baltimore School of Law, Professor Silvain practiced Federal and State litigation focusing on environmental products liability, toxic tort, and insurance defense. She primarily practiced in Maryland and Washington D.C. Her pro bono legal work focused on special education cases through the Maryland Disability Law Center.

In addition to her litigation practice, Professor Silvain has taught Legal Writing, Torts, and Computer Applications in the Legal Environment at the University of Maryland Global Campus for 20 years.
