Profile

Michael A. Rake is a managing partner at the law firm of Horenstein, Nicholson & Blumenthal, located in Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio. He represents clients throughout the state of Ohio, assisting them with legal matters involving Social Security Disability law and veterans’ disability law.

Having dealt with more than 3000 Social Security Disability claims and numerous veterans claims, Mr. Rake is a seasoned attorney who offers zealous representation to help his clients reclaim their lives. He has argued cases before several administrative law judges across the Midwest. Helping his clients navigate the complex legal systems of Social Security and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, he strives to make the process stress-free for them, while upholding their best interests. He holds an “Excellent” rating on Avvo.

Mr. Rake received a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University in 1999 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2004. The following year, he was admitted to practice in all the state courts of Ohio. His other bar admissions include the United States District Courts for Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

Sharing his knowledge of the law with fellow attorneys, Mr. Rake has presented in several seminars on Social Security Disability law. He is a firm believer in giving back to his community and has contributed to local organizations such as the Shoes 4 the Shoeless, the Homefull, the Women's Storybook Project of Texas, the St. Vincent de Paul Gateway Shelter for Men, and the PLACES program in Montgomery County, Ohio.
