Alysia Goss is an Assistant Public Defender with the Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office, where she represents individuals charged with serious criminal offenses and brings a deep commitment to client-centered trial advocacy.
A lifelong public defender, Alysia began her career in Montgomery County and has spent her professional life in public defense. She has tried numerous cases and is certified under Ohio law to serve as defense counsel in capital cases. Her work is grounded in strong trial skills, thorough preparation, and a belief that every client deserves a zealous and human defense.
Throughout her career, Alysia has played a significant role in attorney training and professional development. She is a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College’s Deryl Dantzler Trial Practice Institute (2021) and has helped design and teach trial advocacy programs at both the local and statewide level, including the Dayton Criminal Defense College.
Alysia also serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Dayton School of Law, where she teaches Trial Practice and the Criminal Law Capstone. She holds a B.A. in Business from Washington State University and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
Outside of work, Alysia coaches her alma mater’s high school mock trial team and enjoys time with her fellow public defender fiancé and 3 children.
