Brian Heitkamp serves jointly as CEO of onMain and as the University of Dayton's assistant vice president for real estate management.

Heitkamp's extensive background in economic development, financing, and project structuring spans over 20 years at CityWide. He joined CityWide in 2002 after graduating from the University of Dayton in 1999 with a degree in finance. Over the years, he held key roles including chief operating officer, vice president of economic development, and president. His leadership at CityWide was instrumental in overseeing the organization’s mission and strategy, economic development financing, real estate development, and comprehensive community development programs.

His contributions at CityWide include involvement in transformative projects such as the GE EPISCenter and the Arcade, showcasing his capability to drive significant urban development initiatives. His collaboration with Buddy LaChance, former director of neighborhood development at CityWide and current onMain president, has further solidified his expertise in the field.

OnMain, a collaborative venture between the University of Dayton and Premier Health, was launched following acquiring a 38-acre site at Main and Stewart streets in 2017. The project aims to create a vibrant district emphasizing employment, housing, retail, and community uses. In this role, Heitkamp manages the University’s diverse real estate portfolio, including the Marriott at the University of Dayton, The Hub powered by PNC Bank at the Arcade, the Greater West Dayton Incubator, the new Brown Street medical building, and the student neighborhood housing.

Heitkamp's role involves engaging with developers, seeking funding, and overseeing infrastructure improvements and construction plans for onMain, including the Think Dayton building, the district's first planned commercial building. His vision is to continue contributing to onMain’s and the University of Dayton's advancement while benefiting the local community.
