Dr. Henry D. Lester is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the Systems Engineering Program in the Department of Engineering Management, Systems, & Technology at the University of Dayton. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Dayton, Dr. Lester served on the engineering faculty at the University of South Alabama. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Civil Engineering (University of Alabama), M.S. in Applied Statistics (University of Alabama), M.S. in Operations Management (University of Arkansas), and a B.S. in Aeronautics (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University). His current professional interest includes modeling, analysis, and optimization of complex operational systems and infrastructures susceptible to disruptions. Dr. Lester is retired from the U. S. Army where he had the opportunity to serve in a variety of technical, operational, and leadership positions. He currently is a member of multiple professional organizations including active involvement in leadership and committee roles with the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the International Counsel on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).
