Deborah J. Bickford

Deborah Bickford was the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Learning Initiatives, overseeing programs, services and centers that support the university mission by enhancing learning, teaching, promoting the professional development and engagement of students, faculty, and staff, and integrating learning and living in community. As the Director of the Ryan C. Harris Learning Teaching Center, she collaborated with colleagues to foster innovations in learning and teaching. She was also a professor of Management in the School of Business Administration where she has taught various courses in the areas of strategy and leadership. She is the recipient of several awards, including the University’s Faculty Award in Teaching. She worked for the U.S. General Accounting Office, and taught at the University of Akron and Northeastern University before joining the University of Dayton in 1988. Her research interests focus on the impact of physical space on learning, and on connected and active learning.
