Professional Experience
John joined the UD Career Services team in Summer 2024. He has over 20 years of experience in the Career Services field with an emphasis on career development, programming and employer relations. He enjoys working with individuals and helping them traverse their professional career development journey. Additionally, he has experience as an academic advisor and has taught many classes at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Prior to coming to UD, John has had multiple roles at institutions located in Michigan, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, California and Ohio. Before transitioning to higher education, John worked for nearly 10 years in journalism and newspaper production/circulation as well as small retail management.
Organizational Involvement
John is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and the Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers (MWACE). He has been an active member in several national and state organizations including the National Career Development Association, Association for Christians in Student Development, Kentucky Career Development Association, Georgia Association of Career Development and the Michigan Career Educator & Employer Alliance.
Personal History and Interests
John has lived in 12 different US states (some of the more than once) and traveled through 43 of the 48 continental US states, plus four international countries. He enjoys hiking, cycling, outdoors, LEGOs and sitting on his couch watching movies and motorsports. John and his son have a quest to visit the highest point in each state and have currently reached 14 so far.
