Profile

Jon Fulkerson serves as Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Economics & Finance at the University of Dayton. With a robust academic and professional background, Dr. Fulkerson is dedicated to advancing both scholarship and leadership within the department. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and an MBA from Eastern Kentucky University, followed by a master’s in Economics and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Kentucky. This interdisciplinary training provides Dr. Fulkerson with a strong analytical foundation and a comprehensive understanding of financial markets.

Dr. Fulkerson’s research focuses on mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and investment companies, exploring issues related to fund performance, management strategies, and investor outcomes. 

As department chair, Dr. Fulkerson is committed to fostering academic excellence, collaborative research, and the preparation of ethical, forward-thinking leaders in economics and finance, reflecting the Marianist values at the core of the University of Dayton’s mission.
