Caleb Thompson is a dynamic performer on and off the podium, communicating energy and depth in his music interpretations. His resume includes concerts with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, the University of North Texas Opera Theater, the University of North Texas Symphony Orchestra, the University of Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra, the New Jersey Chamber Orchestra, the Westchester Chamber Soloists and OperaDelaware.
He served on faculty at the Philadelphia International Music Festival from 2020–2022 and again in 2025, where he conducted multiple performances with the festival orchestras. During the 2023–2024 academic year, Mr. Thompson acted as Assistant Conductor for the University of North Texas productions of Cendrillon by Jules Massenet and Tosca by Giacomo Puccini. Additionally, he directed the world premiere of Canticles from the Ends of the Earth by Kirsten Soriano. In May 2024, Mr. Thompson competed in and won the International Conductor’s Workshop and Competition. Mr. Thompson spent the 2024-2025 academic year teaching at Cairn University.
Most recently, he directed the Philharmonia Youth Orchestra of Bucks County and acted as the
Assistant Conductor for the Young Musicians Debut Orchestra of the Philadelphia Youth
Orchestra Music Institute. In the Fall 2026, Mr. Thompson began a position as the Assistant
Conductor of the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance in Dayton.
