JinHee Hand

JinHee Hand is an award-winning flutist and educator whose career combines performance, collegiate teaching and music education. She currently serves as adjunct faculty in flute at the University of Dayton, where she teaches applied flute and works with students in the University's woodwind program.

An active orchestral musician throughout the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Dayton regions, Hand performs with the Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony Orchestra and Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and Springfield Symphony Orchestra. She is also the flutist with School House Symphony, where she combines performance and education to introduce orchestral music to young audiences throughout the region.

Hand received her Bachelor of Music in flute performance from Indiana University, where she studied with Thomas Robertello. She earned her Master of Music in flute performance from Arizona State University, where she continued her doctoral studies in flute performance and advanced to doctoral candidacy (ABD) under the guidance of Dr. Elizabeth Buck.

As a performer and educator, Hand is passionate about sharing her love of music with students and audiences alike. Her teaching emphasizes artistry, strong musicianship, confidence, perseverance and personal growth, encouraging each student to develop an individual musical voice while reaching their fullest potential.
