Profile
Jia Yang is an associate professor at the University of Dayton. She has taught a full range of college-level Chinese language courses and content courses related to Chinese culture. Prior to coming to the University of Dayton, she taught at the University of Notre Dame and Ohio State University.
Research interests
Dr. Yang’s current research interests include Chinese language pedagogy, Chinese linguistics, second language acquisition and cross-cultural communication.
Her scholarly work has appeared in Language Learning and Technology, Journal of the National Council of Less Commonly Taught Languages, Chinese as a Second Language, and International Chinese Language Education.
She regularly presents at annual conferences of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, National Council of Less Commonly Taught Languages, the USA Chinese Language teachers association, and North American Conference on Chinese Linguistics.
