Profile

Danielle Julita Santos Quichocho is a CHamoru scholar from the Mariana Island of Guåhan. Her research sits at the nexus of environmental justice, indigenous advocacy and strategic communication.

She studied creative writing and broadcast news to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida, where she also earned her master’s in strategic communication. As such, and despite their inconsistent performance, she continues to be an avid USF Bulls football fan. Danielle then earned her doctoral degree in media research and practice from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Her research interests currently revolve around the role storytelling plays in making environmental policy decisions and how facilitating communication relationships can shift power dynamics.
