Semih Bedir is a filmmaker and global media researcher. He has written and directed several short films and a feature film. His short films and feature film were screened globally in peer-reviewed film festivals. His awards include best screenplay, best director and special jury awards. He also received an award of excellence for his feature length film project at The Broadcast Education Association, as well as Best Ohio Film at the Columbus Film Festival. Previously, he worked as a screenwriter in the Turkish television industry and as an editor in the Council of Europe's audiovisual department.

As a mixed method researcher, his research focuses on global media flows, educational video production and audience research.
