Dr. Mammana joined the faculty in 2011.

Research Interests

Supramolecular Chemistry, Chirality and Photochemistry:

  • Self-assembly of organic molecules including porphyrins and molecular switches;
  • Study of the interactions of chromophores with natural and synthetic biopolymers (polypeptides and nucleic acids);
  • Design and characterization of chiral dynamic aggregates;
  • Chiroptical biosensors;
  • Photochemistry and electronic structure of bacteriorhodopsin.
