Senior mechanical engineering students were tasked with creating a vertical 3D printer for their senior design project. Their sponsor, Heart of Unlimited Boundaries (HUB), was looking for a vertical 3D printer but it did not exist on the market.

Engineering Senior Design Project Wins Second Place in National Competition for Solutions for Injured Veterans and First Responders link-arrow link-arrow

A team of UD engineering seniors took home second place at the inaugural Quality of Life Plus National Design Competition. The UD team designed a lower-limb socket for a prosthetic that mitigates heat and moisture and improves the quality of life for injured veterans and first responders.

Entrepreneur Ready to Mass-Produce Eye Movement Recording System Thanks to Engineering Senior Design Teams link-arrow link-arrow

Ron Waldorf joined forces with an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department to create the DAX Evidence Recorder, which records eye movements of an impaired driver. Looking to reduce costs and prepare the DAX product for mass production, Waldorf connected with the Innovation Center in the School of Engineering to become a sponsor of a senior design project.

Yes. You can choose from a variety of engineering disciplines and skillsets when filling out our Project Description Form.

Which resources and equipment do student teams have access to?

Student teams have access to a multitude of resources including our Makerspace which offers a variety of fabrication techniques, including wood, metal, electronics, welding, laser, and 3D printing.
