University of Dayton celebrates 175th birthday at picnic, with library

Today, 175 years ago, the first students attended class at Saint Mary's School for Boys, which later became the University of Dayton. The University celebrated at its employee picnic today and will continue throughout the year with library exhibits.

$1M+ grant supports Kessler Scholars program for first-generation college
students
The University of Dayton will receive $1.1 million from Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Judy and Fred Wilpon Family Foundation for the Kessler Scholars program for students in the UD Sinclair Academy who are the first in their families to pursue a four-year degree.
