The FlyerCard is UD's official photo identification card. But it's so much more than just an ID. The FlyerCard is also used to enter buildings, use your meal plan and access Flyer Express.
A digital FlyerCard now is available to most students, faculty and staff. With the digital FlyerCard, you can use your smartphone or Apple Watch to access buildings, attend events, make purchases and more. It's a secure and convenient way to carry your card without needing to keep track of a physical one.
Physical cards are available, as needed. However, you can only have one version of the FlyerCard (digital or physical) — not both.
Current students, faculty and staff should visit Porches for additional FlyerCard information.
Getting Your FlyerCard
All members of the University of Dayton community (students, faculty and staff) are eligible to obtain a card. Your first FlyerCard is issued at no charge.
New, incoming students can find instructions on creating their FlyerCard in Porches. To get started, you'll need to have a photo that meets ID requirements. To enroll in the digital FlyerCard option, you'll also need an approved device (Android phone, iPhone or Apple Watch).
Flyer Express
Flyer Express is an optional prepaid declining balance account that may be used to pay for purchases at participating locations on- and off-campus.
Adding Money to Flyer Express
Current students, faculty and staff: Visit Porches for instructions on adding money to your account.

Door Access
You'll use your FlyerCard to gain access to academic, administrative and residential buildings on campus. Access to your specific buildings and rooms are automatically loaded to your account and do not require any action on your end.
Digital FlyerCard
Once you install the Digital FlyerCard on your mobile device, you'll use your phone (and/or Apple Watch) on the door readers to gain access. Simply open the hold your phone (and/or Apple watch) up to the door reader to unlock. If you have permissions for that reader, it will unlock for you.
Physical/Printed FlyerCard
The FlyerCard contains an internal chip that can be read by the card reader when the FlyerCard is held up to the reader. The card can only be read by a card reader and does not broadcast any information.
Lost or Stolen Cards
If your physical FlyerCard is lost or stolen, report it to the Card Services office immediately (flyercard@udayton.edu or 937-229-2456) or log on to your MyCard Account to mark your card as "Lost".
If you have the GET App, you can use that for door access or meal purchases until you are able to purchase a new physical card.
Current students can find additional information about lost and stolen cards in Porches.
