Alumni standing next to bicycles.1 — The 50th Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa featured several Flyer cyclists, including Jon Ricard ’11, Scott Sapita ’88, Chris Cratty Sapita ’88 and Mike Prisby ’88, who cycled 450 miles across Iowa. They were thrilled when several spectators called out, “Go Flyers!” as they rode by.

— Class of 2020 alumni caught up in Put-in-Bay,Ohio, during a do-over vacationin light of their Dayton-to-Daytona trip being canceled during the pandemic. Carin Statt, Grady Bajorek, Dave Gaydos, Kylie Timmerman, Elizabeth Skelin, Justin Balogh and Kenzie Stormmade new memories and posed with UD Magazine.

3 — Carla Williams Kaufman ’04 married John Kaufman in October 2022, and the couple set off to Italy and France for their honeymoon this summer. The Eiffel Tower in Paris made for the perfect backdrop as the two posed with UD Magazine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alumni group stops to pose in front of an archway in Italy.4 — Keith Cosby ’78, Paula Cosby ’81, Al Marshall ’80, Margaret Fields-Marshall ’80, Robert Kelly ’76 and his wife, Rozlyn, took UD Magazine along for the group’s 10-day tour through Italy.

5 — A family of Flyers, including Lee Ann Kalmey Zwiebel ’90, Rob Zwiebel ’90, Jennifer West Kalmey ’94 and Doug Kalmey ’94, took UD Magazine “across the pond” as they traveled to the 151st Open Championship golf tournament at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club.

6 — The summer issue of UD Magazine arrived just in time for Keith Klein ’98 to pack for his trip to Ireland. He read it cover to cover on the train from Dublin to the Kilkenny Castle.

7 — Having taught American history for three decades, Sean Patrick Brennan ’92 and his wife, Deena Denk Brennan ’92, finally had the chance to visit Mount Rushmore in Keystone, South Dakota. Sean said the sight brought tears to his eyes.

8 — Class of 2020 alumna Alyssa Miller spent three weeks exploring Thailand on vacation with her family. They traveled to Bangkok, Krabi and Phuket, and spent some time on Jeju Island in South Korea — where Alyssa works — and posed for a photo with UD Magazine.

9 — Kelly Faragher O’Connor ’86 brought along a copy of UD Magazine while visiting her sister in Norway. She spent time hiking, watching waterfalls and climbing the Folgefonna glacier.
