Thankful for my favorite fun fact

Thankful for my favorite fun fact

Gabriela Bott '25 November 21, 2023

My go-to fun fact has always been that I have four brothers — one older, three younger. I love seeing people's reactions, which is almost always followed by a shocked ... "and you're the only girl!?"

It gets better when I tell people we were all homeschooled together until eighth grade — that's the big shocker.

My brothers and I have become better and better friends as we've gotten older. Now that us older kids are in college and moving out, our time together is decreasing, but it makes the time we have together sweeter.

I spent nine weeks in Alaska this summer, which was the longest my brothers and I have ever been separated. They all came to pick me up at the airport when I came home, bright and early at 6 a.m. That night we got ice cream together and sat on our church playground for hours, catching up on all that we missed in our time apart.

Spending so much time away from my brothers has made me appreciate my time with them so much more, even though we are pretty active in our group chat and update each other daily. Our time together is always full of a lot of laughter, singing and probably some dancing.

I am thankful for each of my brothers, for all of the fun we have together and that I get to spend the next few days with them during Thanksgiving break.
