Jesus walks the neighborhood
Campus Ministry hosted a Eucharistic Procession after Sunday Mass in late September — or, in other words, took Jesus for a walk through the student neighborhood. Fr. Bob Jones, UD’s chaplain, processed through the neighborhood streets holding a monstrance, which contained a Eucharistic Host. Catholics believe that in this Host, Jesus Christ is fully present. Scott Paeplow, associate director of Campus Ministry , led hymns that students all joined in singing as they walked.
The procession began immediately following Mass at Art Street Amphitheater, and ended at the chapel with benediction. Many passing students looked on curiously, some stopping to reverence the Eucharist by making the sign of the cross.
