More than 11,000 undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and law students who started classes in August already knew what The Princeton Review recently reported: that they attend a Best-Run College with Best Campus Food and Best College Dorms among the Happiest Students who Love Their School Teams.

A group of students huddle around each other on Move-in day.The University of Dayton made the top 25 on those lists plus Best Midwestern, Best Value Colleges, Colleges That Create Futures and Green Colleges in The Princeton Review’s Best 389 Colleges: 2024 Edition. Rankings are based on student surveys.

The new class of undergraduate Flyers began moving onto campus Friday, Aug. 18, and classes for the fall semester started Monday, Aug. 21.

“We expect record graduation rates this year, with more than 70% of our undergraduates earning a degree in four years and 82% within six years, which is well above the national average.”

“UD is committed not only to enrolling talented students from all backgrounds but supporting them through their educational careers,” said Jason Reinoehl, vice president for strategic enrollment management. “We expect record graduation rates this year, with more than 70% of our undergraduates earning a degree in four years and 82% within six years, which is well above the national average.”

Student success also remains high. In the annual Flyer First Destination survey, 98% of undergraduates reported they were employed, pursuing an advanced degree or engaged in service work within six months of earning their degree.

“These are among the reasons students continue to choose UD, along with our faculty, residential learning experience, research opportunities, rankings as a best value college with the best residential options, food, happiest undergraduates and more,” Reinoehl said.

One student shared with The Princeton Review, “There are many reasons to attend the University of Dayton, but the one mentioned above all is its experiential learning. We have opportunities for real world experience in every major — and sometimes even further independent expertise by department.”

New this school year is the launch of the Kessler Scholars program for the UD Sinclair Academy. It is a program for first-generation college students that includes financial aid, personalized services and more. The Kessler Scholars program supports the continued growth of the UD Sinclair Academy, which has nearly 290 students taking classes at Sinclair and UD this fall.
