Keep your cool

Keep your cool

Larry Burgess July 14, 2023

Don’t let the heat get you all bent out of shape, like the street sign at the corner of Caldwell and Brown Streets. Who knows how it got that way, but the summer heat seems like a good excuse to be a little out of sorts. You can combat that feeling by finding a cool place to escape the high temperatures. A shady bench provides some welcome relief. Some campus learners venture forth under umbrellas for protection from the sun. RTA busses, with stops all around campus, are air conditioned to keep you cool while getting you where you need to go. A new front door treatment was recently installed on the Alumni House, sure to keep the hot air out, and the cool air in. Some of the statues around campus are situated in shady spots. A seated Mary near Marycrest Hall faces west and has shade most of the morning — a perfect location for comfortable contemplation. Even the birds around campus know when to stay out of the hot, summer sun. Stay cool, Flyers!
