Expected and yet surprising
During this time of the year, we expect traditional symbols and practices telling us all is well. For example, students are decorating their houses with pumpkins. October is the month dedicated to praying the rosary. Pumpkin spice-flavored beverages are very popular, and sometimes they sell out before we can grab them, as they did at Heritage Coffeehouse. Sticky notes with encouraging messages are seen on the windows of the Hangar in Kennedy Union. And, finally, sometimes we might be surprised with a visit from a black cat. This one was seen by the benches between St. Mary’s and Chaminade halls.
