Women's Center Internship
The Women's Center Internship Program is an integral part of the Women’s Center. The program contributes to the Women’s Center mission, develops student leaders committed to gender equity, and provides programs to the UD community related to gender and social justice issues. The program provides students with hands-on experience as they develop skills that will be useful to them in the wide variety of fields that they pursue after graduation.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES & OUTCOMES
The Women's Center Internship is a space where students can develop skills and knowledge that will enhance and support their academic experiences at UD as well as in their future career. Interns are able to explore new ways of engaging with the UD community while advancing the goal of achieving a more just and equitable society.
As a result of being part of the Internship Program, students will:
- Develop skills that can be used in their careers, academic programs, and civic life.
- Use the skills learned to act as change agents in their roles beyond the internship.
- Implement programs and be involved in initiatives that utilize a social justice framework and a gender focus.
- Gain a better understanding of themselves and their values through self-reflection and dialogue.
- Gain an understanding of how their actions fit within the larger community.
- Develop tools for affecting change within the UD community.
