University of Dayton 2020-21 Inclusive Excellence Council

President Eric F. Spina has named a broad-based group of faculty, staff and students to the first University Inclusive Excellence Council, a permanent standing council to support and advance UD's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The council is co-chaired by Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Lawrence Burnley, and Roesch Chair in the Social Sciences and sociology professor Leslie Picca. For more on members of the council and its work, visit the Inclusive Excellence Council webpage.

Flyer parents conversation with President Spina

Last week, President Spina shared executive summaries of draft recommendations from three primary working groups on our UD Path Forward website along with this video of a conversation he recently had with leaders of the Parents Leadership Council. They discussed a few timely questions and learned new information about how the University is moving toward bringing students back in the fall.

Sunday Mass resumes June 14

Sunday Mass in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception will begin at 10 a.m., with a capacity of 30, to enable the University community to return to worship while providing the safest environment possible. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has granted a dispensation from Sunday Mass for those unable to attend. You can also view via livestream. There will be no 6 p.m. Sunday Mass during the summer. Weekday Mass will resume in mid-August. View details of Campus Ministry's plans.

Phased move-out nearly complete

Students who live outside of Ohio have until June 21 to retrieve their belongings from their UD residences. The phased approach, approved by Public Health — Dayton and Montgomery County — offers students four-hour blocks during pre-scheduled periods. Please reference the move-out form your student received for full details or email housing@udayton.edu.

Housing credits

The prorated credits on student accounts for housing for the period of time students were unable to return to their campus housing during spring semester will roll over to fall semester. If the student will not be living in UD housing during the next academic year, the housing credit will be applied to tuition charges for the next academic year. See the March 17 announcement for details.
