UD students and alumni awarded prestigious scholarships

Nine students and recent graduates won competitive national fellowships to pursue advanced degrees, study internationally or teach abroad during the 2022-23 academic year. They include three Fulbright Scholars, four Gilman Scholars and the University's first Boren Scholar in 10 years. In addition, a May 2022 School of Engineering graduate won a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship. Read more about the scholarship winners here.

Engineering students working to increase community engagement

New leadership in the School of Engineering Ethos Center is deepening engagement in the Dayton community. This summer, about 15 UD students are working with 10 area organizations to connect their engineering skills with each organizations' needs and aspirations. Read more here.

Inclusive Excellence Scholar Residency scheduled for Sept. 19-21

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion will welcome Dan Horan, OFM, as the 2022 Inclusive Excellence Scholar Residency speaker. Horan is director of the Center for Spirituality and professor of philosophy, religious studies and theology at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. New leadership, new trustees added to UD board of trustees

The University has named a new board chairperson and a second vice chairperson to three-year terms starting July 1. Three new trustees also have been appointed. Read about the changes in board leadership here
