Information on spring semester student activities forthcoming

Keep an eye out toward the end of the week for a message about student activities during the spring 2021 semester, which will include a calendar of events through March.

COVID-19 vaccine

UD has enrolled in Ohio's COVID-19 Vaccination Program, which means we may be able to administer the vaccine when supplies are available, although there are no guarantees. The State of Ohio's phased distribution program gives priority to those at greatest risk, with Ohioans age 65 and older in the next priority group, Phase 1B. The oldest of this group are likely to be eligible for vaccination after Jan. 19, and those over 65 likely to be eligible after Feb. 8. The campus will be informed if UD is authorized to distribute the vaccine and who is eligible. UD will continue to work with Public Health - Dayton Montgomery County and the Ohio Dept. of Health. Visit Ohio's COVID-19 Vaccination Program for more information.

The life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The University pays tribute to the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a week of virtual events and engagement. A virtual march and wreath-laying ceremony will take place from noon-12:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. monument on campus. The monument represents King’s historic visit to UD. Click here for links to MLK events

The American Presidency

Join Assistant Professor of Political Science Christopher Devine and a student for a discussion on what qualities make for a successful presidency from noon-12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19. In this afternoon webinar, you’ll learn about the research project and original rating system that students in UD's American Presidency course developed to measure what qualities they value in a president. The session will be moderated by Darius Beckham’19. Please visit the event webpage to receive the Zoom link.

MLK open mic event

Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in Speak Your Peace, an open mic event celebrating the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This open mic event will be hosted via Zoom from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18. Register here by Jan. 15 to attend the event. AmeriCorps programs, UD Community Corps and Ohio Children Alliance (through ServeOhio) are hosting the event. Contact Makenna Woolman for more information
