Graduation times

Commencement ceremony times have been set for graduation weekend May 7-9 for the class of 2021. On May 7, ceremonies will take place for the School of Law (1-2:30 p.m.) and all other graduate programs (6-7:30 p.m.). The College of Arts and Sciences will hold two ceremonies at 9-10:30 a.m. and 1:30-3 p.m. May 8. Students in the schools of Education and Health Science and Engineering will graduate together 9-10:30 a.m. May 9, and School of Business Administration students will graduate 1:30-3 p.m. May 9. ROTC will hold its commissioning noon to 1 p.m. May 8. Ceremonies are limited to 90 minutes to allow for required cleaning and set-up for the next ceremony. Times are subject to change. Fall undergraduate course formats

Undergraduate classes for fall 2021 are being planned for face-to-face instruction.  Undergraduate students will not have options for blended or fully remote course modalities except in rare, extenuating circumstances. Graduate students should contact their program directors to confirm how courses in their program will be offered. To the greatest extent permitted by public health authorities, the University will be in normal, on-campus operation in the fall for learning and research.

Good Friday

University offices will be closed Friday, April 2, in observance of Good Friday. University offices will reopen and classes will resume Monday, April 5.  


Holy Week services

Holy Week observances will take place April 1-4 at RecPlex. Services are open in-person only to UD faculty, staff and students by reservation only, and will take place in accordance with COVID-19 public health guidelines. Livestream is also available for most services via the Campus Ministry YouTube channel. View a full schedule here


Nine schools or programs ranked in U.S. News guide

U.S. News & World Report ranked nine UD schools and programs among the nation’s best. The 2022 edition of “The Best Graduate Schools” features the schools of law, education and health sciences, and engineering, plus the public affairs program and the electrical, materials, aerospace, mechanical and bioengineering engineering programs. UD earns top rankings in National Science Foundation report

The University ranks No. 1 in 10 categories among national, state and Catholic colleges and universities, and increased its standing in five others according to the National Science Foundation’s most recent annual rankings report on higher education research. Read the full story here.

Fulbright Scholarship launch event

Students interested in teaching English, conducting research or earning a master's degree abroad can learn more at the Fulbright Scholarship virtual event 5 p.m. Monday, April 8.
