Transfer Students

We continue to be committed to protecting the health and safety of our campus, our community and beyond. At this point, the following TSO programs will continue as planned with only a virtual or online option available.

Transfer Students

As a transfer student, you are required to participate in an orientation program; however you have the option to choose between the following orientation experiences offered:

  1. Virtual Orientation on July 29 (11:15am-5:15pm EDT) or
  2. Virtual Orientation on August 7 (11:15am-5:15pm EDT) or
  3. Online Orientation (content to review at your own pace).

Registration for 2021 summer orientation will open on March 16th at 1pm, EDT.

Virtual Orientation (July 29 or August 7)

We care about community and hope to create a virtual environment that allows for our transfers to connect with each other, their peers and our faculty/staff. The program supports your transition by helping to welcome and acclimate you to campus and Flyer life.

Registration closes 7 days prior to the program.

Review a sample schedule of the program here!

What to Expect

  • The schedule is built to be online, but that doesn't mean it won't be engaging! There is a "break and browse" resource fair for you to choose your own adventure and chat with different departments on campus.
  • You will be assigned to a small group during the session, in which you can build your peer network and learn about the Flyer experience from current UD students!
  • Parents and family members are able to sit with the student as they complete their virtual orientation and are invited to attend the Parent/Family Lounge to connect with others in the Flyer community.
  • You will gain access to pre-orientation modules prior to the virtual orientation program and receive the virtual login information through the same program, Isidore.

Online Orientation (at your own pace)

The online transfer orientation transfer program provides an alternate way for you to complete the orientation requirement if you are unable to attend either the virtual orientation or the in-person orientation. The modules can be reviewed at your leisure as long as they are completed before the first day of classes on August 23rd.

Parent and Family Experience

We understand that your support system, be they a parent or a family member, may have questions of their own. They are welcome to join you for either VTSO or the "at your own pace" option. Additionally, by sharing their email address during registration, you will ensure they receive access to the collection of presentations and videos we have made available to support their transition.

Your parent/family member will also be invited to participate in the optional parent/family virtual lounge featuring a presentation that focuses specifically on transitioning parenting an adolescent to parenting an adult. The virtual lounge is open to one parent/family member, regardless of which orientation program option you choose.

More details regarding the parent/family lounge will be provided soon!

Joining the Transfer Flyer Zone

We understand that building community and finding a support system is an important part of a successful transfer experience. Mark your calendar so you do not miss this fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow incoming Transfer students prior to beginning classes. All transfer students, regardless which orientation experience you selected will receive an invitation to participate in this casual virtual new student engagement.
