Transfer Students

The University has announced a number of measures to protect the health and safety of our community from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), including suspending all University-sponsored on-campus events and gatherings until further notice.

We continue to be committed to protecting the health and safety of our campus, our community and beyond. At this point, the following TSO programs will continue as planned with only a virtual or online option available.

Transfer Students

As a transfer student, you are required to participate in an orientation program; however you have the option to choose between the two orientation experiences offered:

  1. Virtual Orientation (July 29)
  2. or the Online Orientation (content at your own pace).

Virtual Orientation (July 29)

We care about community and hope to create a virtual environment that allows for our transfers to connect with each other, their peers and our faculty/staff. The program supports your transition by helping to welcome and acclimate you to campus and Flyer life.

Registration closes 7 days prior to the program.

Review a sample schedule of the program here!

What to Expect

  • You will receive a formal welcome, participate in breakout session, and learn about the many activities and support available to you.
  • Parents and family members are able to sit with the student as they complete their virtual orientation. A breakout room for parents/family members to address any of their questions will be provided so as to not conflict with the student schedule.
  • You will gain access to pre-orientation modules prior to the virtual orientation program and receive the virtual login information through the same program, Isidore.

Online Orientation (at your own pace)

The online transfer orientation transfer program provides an alternate way for you to complete the orientation requirement if you are unable to attend either the virtual orientation or the in-person orientation. The modules can be reviewed at your leisure as long as they are completed before the first day of classes on August 24th.

Parent and Family Experience

We understand that your support system, be they a parent or a family member, may have questions of their own. You are welcome to invite them to join you for either VTSO or TSO. Additionally, by sharing their email address during registration, you will ensure they receive access to the collection of presentations and videos we have made available to support their transition.

Your parent/family member will also be invited to participate in the optional parent/family virtual lounge featuring a presentation that focuses specifically on transitioning parenting an adolescent to parenting an adult. The virtual lounge, scheduled for July 29 from 5-6:30 p.m. (EDT), is open to one parent/ family member, regardless of which orientation program option you choose.

Joining the Transfer Flyer Zone

We understand that building community and finding a support system is an important part of a successful transfer experience. Mark your calendar so you do not miss this fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow incoming Transfer students prior to beginning classes. All transfer students, regardless which orientation experience you selected will receive an invitation to participate in this casual virtual new student engagement.

Transfer Flyer Zone (Live Zoom Experience) Details:
