Chapel of the Immaculate Conception Open House (Free event, pre-registration tickets given seating priority, remaining seats filled on a first-come, first-served basis.)
7 AM - 2 PM  Chapel of the Immaculate Conception
The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Self-guided tour books are available. Please stop in for a moment of reflection or to see our beautiful newly renovated worship space.

Thomas J. Frericks 5K Run/Walk Packet Pick-up (Pre-registration and prepayment required)
8:30 - 9:45 AM  RecPlex, Lobby
Registration required. $25 per person before September 11th. $30 per person after September 11th. If registered after September 11th, participants are not guaranteed a t-shirt. Register at:  https://www.speedy-feet.com.
 
Link Bike Rentals (No registration required)
8:30 AM - 12 PM  RecPlex Link Bike Station
Test ride a Link Bike and learn why using bike share is the quickest and easiest way to connect to area restaurants and attractions! Students can also learn about the discount they can receive on their annual membership! We will be offering free day passes to the first 50 people to stop by!

Includes arrival 15 minutes early for check-in. RecPlex Open Hours (No registration required)

UD Families have the opportunity to get active free of charge during Family Weekend through use of the RecPlex facility for open recreation! Minors must be accompanied by an adult, waivers must be signed at check-in, must have drivers license present for access.

RecBike Rentals (No registration required)
9 AM - 10 PM RecPlex, Equipment Resource Center
Take a ride around the neighborhood or hit the trails with our RecBikes! Must be a member to rent the bikes, however a member can rent more than one at a time. All participants must sign a waiver at the time of check-out. Free to rent and must be back before sundown. All bikes come with a helmet and bike lock.

Spinning (Pre-registration required)
9 - 9:50 AM, RecPlex, Studio A
Spinning provides a fun and challenging cardiovascular workout for a variety of fitness levels - you control your resistance and speed.  Hills, sprints and endurance intervals are all part of this class with energizing music and motivational instruction.  Spinning will enhance your speed, strength and stamina, improve your overall physical health and increase your caloric burn.  Join us for a awesome heart-pumping workout!

Family Weekend Information Center & Merchandise Pick-Up Open (No registration is required)

Check-in for Family Weekend is not required. Family Weekend merchandise can only be picked up during these hours. New Student Programs Staff will be available to answer questions.  Limited amounts of merchandise for sale can be purchased with cash or checks (made payable to "University of Dayton").

Rain or shine. Register during pick-up times. All participants must be registered prior to the start of the race.

Education Abroad Mini Fair (Pre-registration required)

Come chat with faculty who are leading faculty-led programs abroad or with representatives from semester-long exchange programs.

Body Blast (Pre-registration required)

This total body workout burns fat and builds muscles using various methods of cardio and strength training.  Be prepared for a high-intensity and fast-paced workout!

College Students and Career Success: Where Do Parents Fit In? (Pre-registration required)

This session will explore the resources of the Office of Career Services and discuss how parents and other family members can support students who are making decisions related to their major, internship options and career opportunities.

Are you the first in your family to attend college?  If so, that makes you a first generation college student.  In this session, we will discuss campus engagement, preparing for the next steps in your career, building your campus support network, and a sneak preview of new programming and supports for first generation college students here at UD.

Work Experience during College: An Employer Perspective (Pre-registration required)

Work experiences during college are pivotal to career decision-making and employment success after college. This workshop, featuring leaders from Ernst and Young, General Electric, and JPMorgan Chase, will educate families about work experiences during college, the employment process, the availability of cooperative education and internship experiences, and the importance of being open to new experiences and diverse geographic destinations.

Work through a series of poses aimed at flexibility and strength, as well as mindfulness and breathing practices during our Vinyasa yoga practice.  Learn to breathe with each posture, stay in the moment, and center mind and body.  Namaste.

Family Rolldown (Pre-registration and prepayment required)

A family friendly bowling competition! Families of all sizes are encouraged to participate, and the team's average score will be ranked- top 3 teams will win a trophy! Timeslots will be allocated for each family, and the winning teams will be announced at the end of the competition.

Academic Open House: Roesch Library (Pre-registration required)

Roesch Library has exciting changes underway.  Stop by for refreshments while you check Roesch Refresh, the transformational renovation of the first and second floors.  You can also visit the Marian Library, which is celebrating its 76th anniversary as the internationally recognized center for scholarship on the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Football Game: UD vs. Duquesne (Pre-registration and prepayment available, day of game tickets available at Welcome Stadium)

Football tickets ($10 for adults, $5 for youth (18 and under); UD students get in free) are available online at daytonflyers.com using promo code 19UDFAMILY, over the phone at (937) 229-4433, or in person at the UD Arena Ticket Office Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. We accept cash or credit/debit for advanced ticket sales. On the day of the game, tickets will be available for purchase at Welcome Stadium.  Cash and credit cards will be accepted on game days.

Painting with Parents hosted by Raise Your Brush (Pre-registration and prepayment required)

Come and get creative with the staff from Raise Your Brush as you paint a UD themed masterpiece!

Family Fun Hunt!  (Pre-registration and prepayment required)
4:15 - 5:30 PM  Humanities Plaza
Families will receive a list of hints and locations around campus and will be given an hour to go to each location, play a minute to win it game, and get a stamp showing they were there.  The winning family will receive a gift card to a restaurant on Brown Street!  The hunt will begin in the Humanities Plaza outside the J.P. Humanities building where non-alcoholic drinks and finger-foods will be provided.  The event ends at the RecPlex.  This event is hosted by UD Miracle, a nationally recognized organization that is dedicated to raising money and awareness for Dayton Children's Hospital through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Future Flyers Night Out (Pre-registration and prepayment required)

Campus Recreation is excited to provide Future Flyers, ages 6-12, with an evening of recreational fun to include games, rock climbing, and more. Children must wear closed toed athletic shoes; if your child has food restrictions please provide a bagged meal. Pre-registration required.
