Camp Blue FAQs

The University has announced a number of measures to protect the health and safety of our community from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). We continue to be committed to protecting the health and safety of our campus, our community and beyond.

The 2020 Camp Blue program has been cancelled to mitigate safety concerns in lieu of COVID-19. Once the fall arrival plan has been finalized and approved by the university and Public Health officials, details and other pertinent information regarding move-in and welcome weekend programming will be communicated to students and parents.

Camp Blue FAQs

Camp Blue is a high-energy and action packed leadership camp exclusively for University of Dayton's first-year students. The focus of the camp is on leadership development and  is designed for students who want to get a jump start on their leadership potential. The initial camp experience takes place August 16-21, 2020 however, Camp Blue 2020 is more than just a week. The leadership development continues into the first semester and includes attendance at the Fall Leadership Conference and participation in one Service Saturday.  Whether it’s high or low ropes, learning how to be a “colorful” leader, team time with upperclassmen counselors, discovering something new and exciting about Dayton, or simply learning what it means to be a UD Flyer, there is something for everyone at Camp Blue.

Camp Blue starts on Sunday, August 16 and ends on Friday, August 21. There are additional experiences that take place throughout the fall semester including: the Fall Leadership conference, enrollment in the UleaD mini course, and participation in a Service Saturday during the Fall Semester.

All first-year students can participate in Camp Blue, this includes both residential and commuter students.

Students can attend Camp Blue as well as MECPrO and/or Honors Welcome.

Registration opens at 1 p.m. EDT on July 30 and will close at 11:59 p.m. on August 4, 2020 or when all spots are filled. You can access the registration for Camp Blue through our website.

Meal Plan A: $30 is equivalent of one extra meal a day

Meal Plan B: $60 is equivalent of two extra meals a day

***Please Note the following about the Supplemental Camp Meal Plans:

  • All meals at UD Dining Facilities are a la carte pricing so the plans above are calculated based on the average cost on 1 or 2 extra meals
  • Can only be used at the UD Dining Facilities that are open during the assigned meal time blocks
  • Any unused portion of either meal plan rolls over to fall semester for use until $0 balance

We understand that some parents/family may not be able to return for Welcome Weekend on August 21 and 22, 2020, so we have included a lunch, welcome and breakout session, and resource fair for camp parents/family on Sunday, August 16.
