Policy on Recruitment Eligibility:

All University of Dayton students must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible to receive a bid and become initiated into a fraternity or sorority:

*be enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Dayton (at least a 12 credit course load during the semester you join)
*be in good disciplinary standing with the University
*have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25 (Most chapters have higher GPA requirements)
-Transfer students without a UD cumulative GPA must submit a copy of their transcript from the institution where credits were earned, reflecting they have met the 2.25 GPA requirement to the Fraternity and Sorority Life staff in the Center of Student Involvement prior to receiving a bid/invitation from a chapter.
*abide by all University and Council recruitment rules and policies

You can register for men's fraternity recruitment by attending one of the two Information Kick-off Nights held each semester.

Fall 2019  Kick-off Nights
Tuesday, September 3, 2019 Kennedy Union Ballroom 5:00pm-7:00pm
Thursday, September 5, 2019 Kennedy Union Ballroom 7:00pm-9:00pm

Visit Fraternity Events

You must register via any method listed above by the deadline. Upon registration, you will be given a list of all registered recruitment events from each chapter and the overall IFC and University recruitment policies. We encourage you to visit as many events as you can from all available fraternities.

Note: Some fraternities' final events may take place on the Saturday and Sunday after the registration cutoff, and you may certainly attend these if you are registered.

Pursue Membership

A bid is a formal invitation to join, given by an individual fraternity that wishes to offer you membership. Remember, you must register by the deadline to be eligible to receive a bid to join. Bids are given out after the conclusion of the recruitment period. There is a standard date and time for all IFC fraternities. A fraternity uses its own internal constitution and by-laws to determine membership qualifications. A fraternity will inform you if its GPA requirement is higher than the University minimum of 2.25.
