Early Arrival & Extended Stay

What is Extended Stay (EX) or Early Arrival (EA) housing?

University residences are open to students during the dates specified as part of the housing contract. The standard dates correspond to the regular academic year/semester and meet the needs of the vast majority of campus residents. It is for those exceptions that we have the extended stay and early arrival request process. In some instances, students may have need to arrive early or stay late for University purposes or similar. While requesting an early arrival or extended stay is not a guarantee that approval will be granted, in the majority of cases, we are able to assist students with their need. Please bear in mind, extended stay and early arrival requests are exceptions and students are required to submit requests via application ahead of established dates. Due to facility needs and other construction work, not all facilities are available for early arrival/extended stay at any given time. Students are not approved for Extended Stay or Early Arrival until they receive notice from the Office of Housing and Residence Life.

Information about extended stay/early arrival housing will be sent to students via email about one month prior to the available period. Applications are available online via the housing portal approximately one month prior to the start of the period.
