Student Health Center

Undergraduates, PA, Lalanne, and Law students are not charged for consultations and examinations at the Student Health Center by physicians and nurses.

Graduate and IEP students are charged for each Student Health Center visit. The charge for a physician consultation is $45 to $75, depending on the length of visit and the type of services provided.

All students are charged for:

  • Medicines dispensed
  • Immunizations
  • Laboratory tests
  • X-ray examinations
  • Miscellaneous items dispensed (e.g., crutches, splints)

Making Payments

All charges are reported to the Office of Student Accounts and entered on the student's account with the University.  Insurance companies are not billed directly; however, students may request an itemized statement.

All charges may be paid at the Office of Student Accounts.

Insurance and Pharmacy Cards

All students should bring a copy of their health insurance/pharmacy card(s) to each visit in the event that medication needs to be ordered from an outside pharmacy, a referral to a specialist is needed or for some laboratory testing.

Students are responsible to check with their insurance company to see if they are required to have a referral from their In-Network Primary Care Physician for any services.  Students may be required to pay the full price of services if they do not follow their insurance plan's guidelines.  Examples of insurance companies that may require this are HMO's, Medicaid, etc.

Missing Appointments

Students who miss a 15 minute or 30 minute appointment without canceling at least one hour prior to their appointment time will incur a $25 charge on their Office of Student Accounts bill.

If for any reason you can't make your appointment, please either call us at least an hour beforehand or go online 24/7 to to cancel.
