Crisis Intervention Resources for University of Dayton Students

  • If you are not currently a University of Dayton student, please call 988 to be routed to the nearest mental health crisis line.

If you are a University of Dayton student and you are in an immediate and life-threatening mental health crisis:

  • On Campus - Call Public Safety at 937-229-2121
  • Off Campus - Call 911 
  • Present to the nearest emergency room

If you are a University of Dayton student and you are in a non-life-threatening mental health crisis

  • Call the Counseling Center at 937-229-3141 for crisis intervention from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A therapist is assigned to provide crisis intervention during specific hours daily. We can generally return calls by the end of the business day.

If you are a University of Dayton student and you are in a mental health crisis after our regular business hours or during a University holiday or weekend (and you cannot wait until business hours to see someone at the Counseling Center) please do one of the following:

  • Call the Counseling Center at 937-229-3141 and press option "2" to speak with an on-call therapist.
  • You may also call Public Safety at 937-229-3141, call 911, or contact one of the numbers listed in Additional Resources below.
  • Go to the nearest emergency room for evaluation and support.
