Crisis Intervention

During Business Hours

If you are in an immediate and life-threatening mental health crisis, please call Public Safety (937-229-2121) if you are on campus, call 911 if you are off campus, or present to the nearest emergency room.

If you find yourself in a non-life-threatening mental health crisis, you may call the Counseling Center (937-229-3141) for crisis intervention during our business hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. There is a therapist assigned to provide crisis intervention during specific hours on a daily basis. We are generally able to return calls by the end of the business day.

You may also contact any of the resources listed below under "Additional Resources."

After Business Hours

If you are in a mental health crisis after our regular business hours or any time during a University holiday or weekend, and you cannot wait until business hours to see someone at the Counseling Center, please do one of the following:

  • If you are on campus or in the Student Neighborhood, call Public Safety at 937-229-2121 and ask for the on-call therapist.
  • If you are off campus, call 911 or contact one of the numbers listed in "Additional Resources" below.
  • Go to the nearest emergency room for evaluation and support.
