Personal Training

We're Here to Motivate You!

Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge, skills and support to achieve your goals both in fitness and in life. We strongly believe that working through physical challenges with us strengthens your muscles and your ability to overcome everyday stresses leading into a higher quality of life. We vow to help you achieve whatever fitness goals you are looking to conquer and create a healthier lifestyle for the UD community, one person at a time.

The Benefit

Personal training provides you with a program designed to meet your individual needs. Our nationally certified personal training professionals will create a fitness program based on your specific goals. Personal training takes you a step beyond your typical exercise regimen and helps you to eliminate the guess work.

We want to help you train for your first 5K, increase your strength, gain confidence in using our equipment - whatever your reason, we're here alongside you to support you in your journey to lifelong wellness.

All Personal Trainers are certified by a nationally accredited program. They are also Red Cross CPR, AED, and First Aid certified. Each exercise prescription will be developed to the needs, desires and goals of the client. Clients will have the choice of training frequency and location (private fitness studio, Stuart Field, RecPlex Fitness Center, etc.).

This program does not involve session or duration contracts of any kind. Once a personal trainer is assigned to a client, they will schedule a fitness assessment and consultation. During the consultation, the client(s) will complete health history forms for medical clearance.

To participate in Campus Recreation Personal Training, each participant must complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) and General Health Screening. After completing these forms, a Physicians Clearance to participate in an exercise program may be requested by the trainer. A form will be provided to you that can be completed by your physician.  The completed Physicians Clearance will need to be received before any physical exercise lead by Campus Recreation staff can occur.

  • Participants must be current UD Campus Recreation members.
  • Minors and Personal Training: 16- and 17-year-old Campus Recreation members may participate in UDCR Personal Training. A parent or legal guardian must be in attendance at all times for all personal training sessions.
  • Please do not purchase sessions before you have been assigned a Personal Trainer.
  • Payment must be received before training begins. All receipts are due at the beginning of the session in order to proceed.
  • Trainers have the right to decline and/or discontinue any program that in their professional opinion is not in the best interest of the trainer and/or client.
  • Results are based on individual effort in the program and other factors.
