STEM Catalyst Initiative

About Us

The STEM Catalyst Initiative was created to invest in and support faculty and student STEM research at the University of Dayton. We invite applications for STEM Catalyst Grants - a highly competitive research grant program across the sciences, engineering and mathematics. All faculty - tenured, tenure track and non-tenure track - are eligible for funding through this initiative.

The program, which launched in 2017, provides funds to broadly support research across STEM fields. The award is intended to advance new and existing research programs that have the potential to rise to national prominence and transition to external funding. Applications should articulate how the research advances the University of Dayton’s commitment to the common good. Proposals from collaborative teams addressing multidisciplinary challenges are particularly encouraged.

STEM Catalyst grants are offered through collaborative support from the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering and the Office of the Provost.
