CITI Training

The University of Dayton is a member of the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI). Through this membership any student, faculty or staff member can take advantage of free online education and training modules in subject protection and research ethics. This is an excellent resource for UD personnel looking for a refresher course or looking to improve their knowledge of research ethics, subject protections, and animal care and use courses.

Many research sponsors require CITI certification when proposed research involves human subjects or animal use.  The University of Dayton requires CITI Training in human research protections for all NON-EXEMPT research projects.

To access CITI Training:

  1. Go to https://www.citiprogram.org/
  2. Select "Log in via SSO"
  3. Scroll down and select "University of Dayton"
  4. Log in using your UD LDAP credentials.
  5. Under University of Dayton courses, select "Add a Course".
  6. Under Question (1) Human Subjects Research, select "Social & Behavioral Research Investigators” or “Biomedical Research Investigators”, whichever is appropriate in your case.
  7. For Questions 2 through 6, select "Not at this time." Click "next"
  8. You should now see "Social/Behavioral Research Course" or “Biomedical Research Course”. Please proceed as instructed.
